ITINERARY:
The Caribbean of Costa Rica with its different faces leads you to a combination of nature wonders and personal experiences among land and culture: The Arenal Volcano, exuberant rainforests with an incredible variety of wildlife and endless beaches, will definitely amaze you. The unique people of the Caribbean welcome you to enjoy an experience of warmth and friendship.
Route: San José – Tortuguero National Park - Puerto Viejo de Limón – Sarapiquí - Arenal Volcano - San José.
Day 1- Arrival to San José- At your arrival in San Jose a representative will be waiting for you at the International Airport and will provide all the travel documents. A shuttle service will take you to your town hotel. Accommodation at the Rincon del Valle Hotel or similar.
Day 2- San José – Puerto Viejo de Limón – After breakfast you will be transported to the Caribbean Coast, arriving to Puerto Viejo in the afternoon hours. Accommodation at the Villas del Caribe Hotel or similar. Breakfast is included.
Day 3 – Puerto Viejo de Limón – Caribbean Beaches - Relax at one of the surrounding Caribbean beaches or take a walk through the colorful town of Puerto Viejo. Nature lovers can wander the Manzanillo Wild Life Refuge, or the nearby Cahuita Marine National Park, where snorkeling is superb and it is common to see many small mammals like sloths and monkeys. You can also take a kayak or canoe tour and explore rivers and the ocean. Accommodation at the Villas del Caribe Hotel or similar. Breakfast is included.
Day 4 – Puerto Viejo - Tortuguero National Park – Arenal Volcano - Early in the morning a shuttle service will drive you to Siquirres. The tour continues by bus and boat along the 32 Km of waterways and rivers until you reach thetown of of Tortuguero. The Tortuguero National Park is one of the most important nature reserves in Costa Rica offering each year a perfect nesting place for leatherback and green turtles. Accommodation at the Mawamba Lodge or similar lodging in Tortuguero. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Day 5 - Tortuguero National Park – Arenal Volcano - In the early morning hours you will experience the beauty of the rainforest on a boat trip through the canals of the Tortuguero National Park. During this boat trip you will discover lots of animals that can only be seen in this tropical paradise. After breakfast you will be transported back to Siquirres by boat and bus and after a delicious lunch in Guapiles you will continue your trip on a shuttle service driving through the northern plains with their exotic tropical flora and various plantations before you get to La Fortuna, the town located by the impressive Arenal Volcano. Accommodation at the Casa Luna Hotel or similar. Breakfast and lunch are included.
Day 6 – Arenal Volcano - Day at leisure in the area for activities - You can visit the lava fields at the Arenal Volcano National Park, take a horseback riding tour to the Fortuna Waterfall or enjoy one of the Hot Spring Resorts around the volcano. For those who love adventure La Fortuna also offers a great variety of adventure activities such as Zip lining tours, canyoning and white water rafting. Accommodation at the Casa Luna Hotel or similar. Breakfast is included.
Day 7 – Arenal Volcano - San Jose - Today you will have some time in the morning to enjoy at your convenience in the Arenal Volcano Area. In the afternoon your shuttle will drive you through the mountains and passing by coffee plantations back to San Jose. Rincon del Valle Hotel or similar. Breakfast is included.
Day 8 – Departure from San Jose - Shuttle transfer to the International Airport and return flight. Breakfast is included.
