-San José – Poás Volcano – Arenal Volcano – Sarapiquí – Tortuguero National Park – Puerto Viejo -
Day 1- Arrival to San José- At your arrival in San Jose a guide will be waiting for you at the airport and will provide all the travel documents. A shuttle service will take you to your town hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel Occidental Torremolinos or similar. Breakfast is included.
Day 2- San José – Poás Volcano – Arenal Volcano - In the morning a representative of the Car Rental Company will deliver your 4WD vehicle to your hotel. You have a 7 day rental of a Daihatsu Beego or similar included in your package. Mandatory CDW Insurance (Aprox. $15 per day) and safety deposit are not covered. Today you begin your trip driving down the Pan-American Highway towards through coffee plantations and volcanic mountains until you reach the Poás Volcano. Here you will be able to appreciate a magnificent view into one of the largest craters of the world and the wonders of the cloud forest. Later you will drive down the Caribbean slope passing by the famous La Paz Waterfall, before you get to La Fortuna, a town located by the impressive Arenal Volcano. Overnight stay at Hotel Arenal Paraiso or similar breakfast included.
Day 3 – Arenal Volcano - Day at leisure in the area for activities. You can visit the lava fields at the Arenal Volcano National Park, take a walk to the Fortuna Waterfall or enjoy one of the Hot Spring Resorts around the volcano. For those who love adventure La Fortuna also offers a great variety of adventure activities such as Canopy Tour, Horseback riding, or even Bungee Jumping. Overnight stay at the Hotel Arenal Paraiso or similar. Breakfast is included.
Day 4 – Arenal Volcano-Sarapiqui - This morning you will drive to Sarapiqui. This region offers activities in full contact with nature like a hiking tour at La Selva Biological Station or a White Water Rafting in the Sarapiqui River. In the evening you will enjoy the quiet location of this family owned hotel La Quinta. Overnight stay at Hotel La Quinta de Sarapiqui or similar. Breakfast is included.
Day 5 - Sarapiqui – Tortuguero National Park - Early in the morning you will drive to Guapiles, where you will enjoy a typical breakfast and meet your guide and transportation to Tortuguero National Park. Here you will leave the car and the tour continues by bus and boat along the 32 Km of waterways and rivers until you reach the town of of Tortuguero. The Tortuguero National Park is one of the most important nature reserves in Costa Rica offering each year a perfect nesting place for leatherback and green turtles. Overnight stay at the Laguna Lodge or similar. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included.
Day 6 – Tortuguero National park - Puerto Viejo - In the early morning hours you will experience the beauty of the rainforest on a boat trip through the canals of the National Park. During this boat trip you will discover lots of animals that can only be seen in this tropical paradise. After breakfast you will be transported back to Guapiles where you will pick up your car. After lunch you will continue driving down the coast and arriving to Puerto Viejo in the afternoon. Overnight stay at Hotel Azania Bungalows or similar breakfast and lunch included.
Day 7 - Puerto Viejo - Relax at the beach or take a walk through the colorful town of Puerto Viejo. You can also visit Cahuita National Park. Overnight stay at Hotel Azania Bungalows or similar. Breakfast is included.
8. Day - Puerto Viejo - San Jose - Today you will have some time in the morning to enjoy at your convenience. In the afternoon you drive the route 32 through the Braulio Carrillo National Park back to San Jose. Overnight stay at Hotel Occidental Torremolinos or similar. Breakfast is included.
9. Day – Departure from San Jose - Today you return your car at the airport to take your international flight.
Transfer will be provided to the International airport. End of services.
